ABOUT US
It can get better. We promise.
If you’re motivated to make a change, we’re here to help.
Change in life is inevitable. Sometimes it’s beautiful and sometimes it’s difficult, but many times it’s both. Whether these changes are ultimately negative or positive is up to how well we are able to cope, and sometimes it’s necessary to ask for some professional support and guidance along the way.
We promise a safe and welcoming space to talk about… anything.
We’ve made it our mission to provide individuals, couples, and families in our community with the tools, resources and support they need to be resilient in times of change. Our ultimate goal is to empower you to take charge of your well-being so you can grow forward through life’s challenges.
-
LIFE CAN ‘BE THE PITS’ SOMETIMES. WHEN THINGS GET CHALLENGING, IT’S OKAY TO ASK FOR SOME HELP.
We all have our emotional ups and downs - periods of stress, trouble in our relationships, dips in our work performance. These are the normal challenges of life that we all experience. In most cases, we think of it as ‘having a bad day’ or ‘a rough patch.’ It’s when having a bad day turns into ‘having a bad life’, that there’s a problem.
It’s important to know that you’re not alone. You’re normal. You’re not a failure if you seek professional help.
As qualified therapists we can provide you with the tools, resources and support you need. But, mostly importantly we can acknowledge that your struggle is real. We can listen, and be here… just for you.
NOTHING CHANGES IF NOTHING CHANGES.
Mental health and overall wellness is about having a sense of control in your life, so that when confronted by things that negatively impact you, you have both the choice and the ability to manage how you will respond to life’s changes.
But sometimes, life puts us in environments, situations, relationships and events we cannot control. These unresolved feelings from stressful, traumatic and / or abusive experiences can prevent us from having the capacity and confidence to move forward in a healthy way.
Whatever challenges or difficult life events you have or are experiencing, we believe that with proper support, anyone who is motivated, can create positive change in their life.
We will encourage you to participate in working through what is holding you back from the life you want. We will encourage you to take the initiative and be an active player in your life. Instead of always reacting to life's events or stressors, we will help you to develop and utilize healthy coping skills that will make you feel empowered to deal with both past and new challenges, as they arise.
HEAL THE WAY YOU WANT.
It’s important to us that everyone we work with feels safe and in control of their healing process.
That’s why we offer a variety of options to access therapeutic support including:
ONLINE COUNSELLING for those who live outside our area, prefer the comfort of their own home, or simply want the flexibility of being able to meet remotely via secure video and/or phone.
IN-PERSON SESSIONS for those who live in the GTA and are looking for a private, comfortable space to meet. (We have two offices located in Village Square, Downtown Burlington and in Oakville, close to the QEW.)
ONLINE RESOURCES, WORKSHOPS and COURSES for those who are interested in or in need of mental health supports and are - financially, geographically or emotionally - unable to access the information, expert advice or care they are looking for.
-
NO MATTER WHAT IT IS, WE PROMISE A SAFE AND WELCOMING SPACE TO TALK ABOUT... ANYTHING.
WE'RE HERE FOR YOU.
Your interests are given the utmost consideration, privacy and respect. You deserve to be treated as a person of worth and value and it is our responsibility to accept you for who you are and where you are in your life without judgement or pressure.
WE PUT KIDS FIRST AND BELIEVE THAT LOVE SHOULDN’T HURT.
Our specialized services, workshops and courses are uniquely designed with healthy family relationships - and especially children - in mind.
We are one of a handful of professionals who offer therapeutic support for families who need guidance navigating difficult issues or events in their lives including: separation, divorce, co-parenting, and intimate partner and family violence.
A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER TODAY, IS GROWTH FOR A BETTER TOMORROW.
Mental health and well-being is not only vital to our individual health and well-being, it is crucial for our communities to thrive.
That's why we're doing our part to build a more inclusive, affirming and equitable community where everyone has the opportunity to grow forward through every phase and stage of life's challenges.
Our community outreach initiatives, programs and partnerships are dedicated to providing access to therapeutic services to as many individuals, couples, families and workplaces as we can.
We offer free mental health resources, affordable counselling, group workshops, online courses and specialized programs to address the specific needs of the communities - we proudly work and live in - along with those in marginalized populations and remote areas, who need our support.
-
There is no room for stereotypes, stigmas or inequality if we are going to tackle the impact of mental illness on our families, communities and country.
We believe in diversity, equality and inclusion of all people regardless of their age, gender, race, faith or sexual orientation.
We want to start and contribute to meaningful and positive conversations within our community.
Our goal is to remove the barriers to therapy that exist so that improving or maintaining your mental health is not only possible, it is welcomed, encouraged and successful.

Peachey Counselling and Family Support was founded in 2017 by Stefanie Peachey.
As a Registered Social Worker and Accredited Family Mediator, Stefanie began as a sole practitioner specializing in Separation, Divorce and Co-Parenting.
By 2019, the practice expanded to three practitioners and by 2020 there were seven practitioners. We became one of a handful of professionals - in the Hamilton / Halton Region - offering specialized therapeutic support for Separation, Divorce, Co-Parenting, Intimate Partner Violence and Family Violence.
Since 2020, we’ve continued to grow with an expansion of our services to include a variety of therapeutic modalities to address a wider audience and greater range of issues - addressing all of the stages, phases and events we can experience in a lifetime.
Now in 2023, we have a therapeutic team of over 20 and a staff team of two, offering in-person sessions in Burlington and Oakville, and virtual counselling all across Ontario.
We are always looking for ways to meet the changing needs and most prevalent challenges facing our communities.
We actively develop new services, groups, workshops, courses, resources, and programs; based on the passions and expertise of our therapists and our ongoing goal to empower the people in the communities we serve.
We’re here for you.
You can feel better today by knowing your struggle is real, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to wait to feel better.
Our team of therapists are here to help. Every member of our therapist team has their own specialties and experience and has been carefully selected to ensure that the right level of expertise and commitment is here for you.
