Get to know Stefanie

  • I started my practice because I wanted to provide a safe space. A welcoming space for people to talk about the most difficult and important things in their life. An inclusive space that gives people the support they need.

  • I believe that mental health and overall wellness is about having a sense of control in your life.

When confronted by the things that negatively impact you, you should have both the choice and the ability to manage how you will respond to life’s changes so you can continue to grow and thrive throughout life’s changes and stages.

That’s why it’s important to take the initiative when it comes to our mental health. Instead of always reacting to life’s events ‘after’ they happen, we must be active players in our lives. We need to understand what is holding us back and learn how to cope in a way that allows us to deal with new challenges and stressors as they arise.

  • My ultimate goal is to empower people so they can take charge of their well-being. I will work with anyone who is truly motivated to create positive change in their life.

In return, I will provide knowledge, kindness and my support. I’m smart and I’m dedicated to the work that I do. I know that you need to get something out of my services and I will ensure that you do. In two words - I care.

But it is important to know that nothing changes if nothing changes.

It’s simple, to the point, and has become our team mantra. If we want positive change in our lives, we must take responsibility for that choice by committing to the process and doing the work needed to make that change happen. That’s why I will encourage you to be an active player in your life so you can be in charge of your well-being and happiness.

  • What I value most in a client is someone who is dedicated, reflective, and actively seeking change.

  • The specialized services that I personally provide are uniquely designed with healthy relationships in mind: Parenting Plans, Voice of the Child Reports, Custody and Access Agreements, Mediation, Co-Parenting Coaching and Collaborative Law. As well I offer therapeutic services that address Intimate Partner and Family Violence.

It is important to me that families - and especially children - have the therapeutic support and guidance needed to navigate these kinds of difficult issues and events in their lives.

I firmly believe that there is a way to cope positively to challenging situations so that the negative impact to you and those you care about are minimized.

I teach clients how to manage stressful situations and not let difficult life events impact them or those they care about negatively.

Through my work and the work we do collectively at Peachey Counselling, the ultimate goal is to ensure that kids come first and that love doesn’t hurt.
