Let’s see if we’re a good fit…
Life is tough and people become stuck at different stages but you don’t have to go through it alone.
Mental Health encompasses a persons overall wellbeing, emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritually. The biggest misconception is to suppress giving attention to your mental health because it shows weakness. This is not true.
After my own personal experiences with grief and loss and my career in law enforcement, I feel it’s important for people to know that you don’t have to navigate through tough times or traumatic experiences alone.
No one, (including myself) is immune to having problems so I know having a trusted person to work through your concerns is better then trying to resolve it all on your own.
I want you to know that have a lot of respect and empathy for others and I will work hard to help you resolve the issues that are preventing you from having the happy, healthy and productive life you want.
I’m here for you.
Q&A
-
In general I enjoy helping others, providing support and education on available community resources.
Specifically, I had a long career in law enforcement, helping individuals and families deal with the concerns stemming from the traumatic experiences they encountered. I feel grateful for the opportunity to help support people through challenging situations.
-
I attended counselling after my husband passed away from cancer. It was very helpful to me, a tough time to navigate through alone. From that experience, I'm very passionate about helping others work through grief and loss.
I also enjoy working with teens and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression to help them get through the periods where they feel ‘stuck’ so they can thrive instead. It’s all about by setting and achieving the goals they wish to achieve while incorporating coping skills for challenges in the future.
I'm also interested in working with those dealing with trauma and PTSD, including first responders working through the trauma they experience at work.
-
I'm kind, respectful, easy to talk to, supportive and a good listener.
I have a background in education, registered with the Ontario College of Teachers. I have many areas of interest and consider myself a “life long learner.” I'm always learning and staying informed of new modalities, updating skills through workshops, online courses etc. to help support my clients better.
I want everyone I encounter to be ‘successful’ in whatever way is meaningful for them, and to have happy and healthy relationships.
-
Being understanding, empathetic, compassionate, non-judgemental and supportive.
-
Coming into counselling is a big step that I truly respect in others. The courage and resilience to tell your story to a stranger - who is me at first - it takes a lot to dig deep and know when help is needed.
-
It's an honour to get to know and work with others.
I love doing something different everyday, meeting new people, helping to resolve concerns, providing individuals with the advice and support they need to navigate through challenging situations.
