Let’s see if we’re a good fit…

To me mental health is about feeling well in our bodies and minds. Mental health is not just about achieving a one time goal but rather learning to manage and cope with the challenges of day to day life.

“When I is replaced with WE, illness becomes wellness.”

Shannon L. Alder.

The greatest misconception about mental health is the idea that something is severely wrong if someone is seeking out support. Seeking help to address our mental health is not a sign of weakness but rather a brave recognition that we need a little support to get there - turning that “I” into a “WE”.

I want you to know that the team here at Peachey Counselling is a team of like minded individuals who are committed to prioritizing client needs and helping to reduce that barriers to accessing counselling. No matter the need, Peachey will work with you to help you find the best fit so that you can achieve your therapeutic goals.

My hope is that you will feel safe and supported through your therapeutic journey with me. I want you to know that I am “real”, compassionate, understanding and knowledgeable.

Even a baby step is a step forward.

I’m here for you.

Q&A

  • I became a counsellor because I loved the idea of being able to use my vocation to help others.

Growing up in an environment that provided tremendous amounts of love and support I knew the value of having someone in your corner.

I wanted to be able to recreate that experience and support others in navigating life’s challenges. No matter what it is, we will figure it out together!

  • I am passionate about issues pertaining to healthy relationships, anxiety, conflict resolution, self esteem and grief/loss. I believe everyone deserves to enjoy a healthy life.

  • Working with me means that we will work collaboratively to create healing and change.

I believe in being compassionate, and recognizing the strength that each of you brings as experts of your own life. I have been told by my clients that I am “real” and I strive to maintain authenticity in my work.

I recognize how difficult it can be to heal parts of us that have been injured (and work towards healing and wellness) but I am committed to the journey. I practice from an anti-oppressive, and client centered framework.

  • I believe that honesty, compassion and collaboration are important qualities for a therapist to have.

  • What I value most in a client is openness, transparency and a willingness to change.

  • I love being able to accompany a client through their own journey of learning, healing and self- empowerment. That moment where everything just clicks and the breakthrough happens - those are the moments that bring great joy to me as a counsellor.

Being able to see my clients become stronger, healthier and in control of their lives is wonderful. I consider it a privilege to be able to accompany someone through such a personal journey.
