Let’s see if we’re a good fit…

Learning how to cope and manage your mental health will help you to improve your quality of life.

The greatest misconception about mental health is the idea that you are either mentally ill or mentally healthy.

Mental health is a continuum and at different points in our lives we may find ourselves anywhere on that spectrum. Our mental health moves up and down the continuum depending on life events and our capacity to cope.

To me, mental health is an overall sense of mental, emotional, and social well-being and the ability to understand our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I believe that one must feel safe and secure within themselves and their relationships in order to truly benefit from the social aspects of our lives.

Our core values and beliefs are the guiding principles for how we live our lives, yet we are not always consciously aware of how they shape our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and in turn, the meaning we make of life events. I truly enjoy providing individuals the opportunity to increase self-awareness, which is a pivotal step in making change.

My goal as a therapist is to provide you with a space in which you can engage in the process of introspection with a sense of safety, understanding, confidence, and hopefulness.

I’m here for you.

Q&A

  • From a very young age, I always enjoyed helping others and wanted to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

I always feel incredibly honoured to be given an opportunity to support someone in overcoming a challenge.

  • I specialize in working with individuals, couples and families who need support for issues related to trauma, violence and abuse. I like to focus on anger management and conflict resolution to address unhealthy behaviours and relationships.

  • I’ve been told by previous clients, colleagues, and supervisors that I bring an unwavering amount of passion, ethics, and a value based approach to my clinical work.

I am not only interested in the outcomes of therapy but in supporting my clients through the turbulence of healing and change.

I will always be forthright and honest; bringing a human approach to my work. I strive to create an authentic and genuine connection based on mutual respect and teamwork.

When working with me, you will always be in the driver’s seat of your therapeutic goals because ‘you’ are the expert of your life. It is my job to help your best self to shine through.

  • I believe that as a social worker it is my ethical responsibility to maintain professional commitment and competence to enhancing the well-being of my clients.

I believe that the key personal quality to being an effective therapist, is empathy. The ability to identify with and understand another person’s point of view and experience is paramount to building stronger relationships with clients.

My goal is to ensure that my clients feel comfortable enough to trust me with the parts of themselves that they have felt they needed to keep hidden for fear of judgement.

My hope is that my clients find a sense of safety and security within our therapeutic relationship, allowing them to venture on the path of change with confidence and hopefulness.

  • What I value most in a client is self-awareness, a willingness to be vulnerable, and a commitment to the process of change.

  • What I enjoy most about the work that I do is connecting with individuals on a deeper level in which they can identify, examine, and evaluate their core values and beliefs.
