Let’s see if we’re a good fit…
I endorse therapy as a lifelong tool for anyone and everyone who is interested in improving and maintaining their mental health.
I think that one of the biggest misconceptions about mental health is that it should be acted on reactively, rather than proactively.
I believe we should tend to our psychological well-being on a regular basis so that when crisis situations arise we are better able to manage them. We tend to ask ourselves, “is my situation bad enough to make a change?” when we could be asking, “is my situation good enough that I can’t make it better?”
Mental health is all-encompassing. No matter how we spin it, our psychological well-being determines how we experience every single moment of our lives. I think it is incredibly important to acknowledge this connectedness.
I want you to know that I am ready with an open mind and open heart to listen, guide, and dive deep into whatever your concerns may be.
I’m here for you.
Q&A
-
The human ability to reflect on our own thoughts, feelings and behaviours will never cease to amaze me, and I am honoured to walk alongside my clients as they do so. I cannot imagine working in any other profession.
-
I am interested in encouraging clients to entertain perspectives outside of their own, and to embrace vulnerability as a strength rather than a weakness - particularly in terms of conflict resolution, effective communication and relationships.
I also specialize in supporting those who have trying to cope with trauma and the impact of others’ substance abuse.
Overall, I aim to help people effectively navigate life’s transitions and challenges - no matter how big or small.
-
One of my favourite authors Glennon Doyle writes, “destruction is essential for construction… if we want to build the new we must be willing to let the old burn.”
The therapeutic process takes courage, and I admire those who are at the ready to feel it all; the good and the bad.
If you choose to work with me, you may experience personal growth by confronting your own discomfort. But this can happen at whatever pace you wish. I will use all of my abilities to help you draw meaningful connections so you can move forward and grow in a healthy way.
I would love to hear from a client that they felt comfortable being vulnerable with me, that I was passionate about helping them and that I empowered them to experience life in a more positive way.
-
I feel that it is important to be empathetic, open and attentive.
-
What I value most in a client is a commitment to self-reflection and an openness to change.
-
To me, there is no greater reward than helping facilitate positive change in someone else’s life.
